almond oil for baby skin

Why Is Almond Oil Beneficial For Your Baby's Skin?

Few reasons we are OBSESSED with almond oil and why you should be too!

▪️ Gentle, but extremely potent

Almond oil contains all kinds of natural goodness: minerals, vitamins, fatty acids and proteins. It is very easily absorbed into the skin and it soothes and moisturizes it. Almond oil is gentle, hypoallergenic and can be used on the sensitive baby skin. Rich in Vitamin A, vitamin E (which is one of the most potent antioxidants known), zinc and magnesium. It is a natural sunblock (spf 5) and some researches show that it can protect from UV damage (that is pretty amazing however we still recommend using a higher spf for you and your baby) External application of the oil prevents dehydration by reducing moisture loss from the skin.

▪️Hydrates and nourishes

Almond oil will keep your little one’s skin moisturized and soft for hours. It's highly emollient, which means it helps to balance the absorption of moisture and water loss. Almond oil is also the best remedy against chapped and dry skin during winters. It is safe and extremely gentle and that is why we chose it as one of our main ingredients in The HoneyB baby oil that locks in up to 10 times more moisture than a regular body lotion. ▪️Promotes hair growth

Becky with the good hair? More like BABY with the good hair! Not only does it help fight and cure cradle cap but almond oil also nourishes the scalp and promotes healthy and shiny hair growth. Gently massage some almond oil on your baby’s scalp after bath time and let it do its magic :)

▪️Helps against skin rashes

Almond oil has been used for centuries in ancient medicine to treat eczema and skin irritations. Your baby's skin is indeed the softest thing you will ever touch however it is normal that it might become dry and irritated. So don't panic, just use some sweet almond oil. It not only treats but prevents irritations.

▪️ Great for massaging your baby

Beyond hydration, almond oil is perfect for massaging your little one because it helps calm them down and gets them ready for bed time. It is also highly anti-inflammatory and boosts the immune system to protect from pathogens and invaders, such as cold or flu. The presence of Vitamin D, potassium, and calcium makes almond oil the perfect source to strengthen your baby's bones and joints. Massaging with almond oil will remove impurities and dead cells from the skin by getting rid of excess oil.

▪️ Mama tip:

Let’s face it: those forth trimester symptoms are no fun! If you experience dry and brittle nails apply a drop of warm almond oil to the hands and rub into the cuticle at least three times per week. The zinc within will help you to grow stronger longer lasting nails. You can thank me later :)
